An 11-year-old woman died after dropping consciousness on a Turkish Airways flight headed from Istanbul to New York on Sunday, the airline instructed CBS Information in a press release. Flight TK003 made an emergency touchdown in Budapest, Hungary, as a health care provider on the airplane reportedly tried to help the woman.
“Our cabin crew made the announcement on the PA system for any docs on board whereas the captain of the flight instantly diverted to Budapest,” Turkish Airways stated in a press release supplied to CBS Information on Monday. “As a health care provider amongst our passengers attended the scenario and carried out coronary heart therapeutic massage, our cockpit crew made an emergency touchdown in Budapest.”
The airline stated emergency medical personnel boarded its Airbus A330-300 in Budapest, “however regardless of all efforts, [the] passenger could not be saved.”
The airline provided “heartfelt condolences to the household and family members” and stated the woman’s household received off the airplane in Budapest, permitting the flight to proceed and arrive in New York about 4 and a half hours not on time.
Neither the airline nor Turkish or Hungarian authorities launched any data on the kid’s nationality or the suspected explanation for her demise.
